I guess it’s cheating a little bit to post up two of this posts within a few days of each other but if you bear with me a little bit, I promise I’ll return with one or two mud splattered, tent dwelling treats. In the meantime, I hope this will tide you over. As you can see, there wasn’t one run away artist dominating the last 7 days . Having said that, new albums from Arctic Monkeys and Bon Iver have had more than a fair share of listens. The previous has surprised me with how good it is, while the latter has surprised me by having a final track so bad that I’m tempted to delete it from my iTunes. Seriously, at what point did Bon Iver think that including a god awful 80s soft rock monstrosity was a good idea? It makes me shudder just thinking about it. So let’s delete it from memory by listening to a couple of tracks from some of this weeks most listened to artists.

So this week has been another manic one and I seem to have forgotten to do this usual post. Better late than never I guess. As you can see, my listening habits were pretty much dominated by one person. What can I say, I was just in an Elliott Smith kinda mood?! Once I’d started listening, I just couldn’t stop. Couldn’t drag myself away. Especially as I came across a treasure trove of unreleased, alternative and demo recordings which I just immersed myself. There’s some seriously brilliant stuff that I wasn’t even aware of and being the kind so and so that I am, I thought I’d share the link with you. So I guess I’ve been neglecting this place for the last week or so. No major reason, I’ve just not felt like posting and haven’t really wanted to force myself to write for the sake of it. So I thought I’d break the silence by continuing on with the posts that normally happen on a Monday. I guess two days behind schedule isn’t too bad. As ever, last week was a week of mixed listening. Some new stuff in the shape of new records from Tom Vek, My Morning Jacket and Young The Giant along with some older stuff from the likes of Echobelly, Pulp and Holy Fuck. I may well write about some of the newer stuff if I can find some motivation but in the mean time here are some songs to keep you occupied.
